What it does
The Mass Spec is the optimized final verification point for the bottle float before the washer. With a push rejector behind it, it removes contaminants present at residual levels far below the first barrier's threshold.
What it catches
- Aromatics / SAM
- Acetone, toluene, paint solvents
- Ammoniacal / NOx
- Pesticides (e.g. Raid) and insecticides
- Low-volatility / PEx
- Industrial detergents, strong perfumes, deodorants
- Alcohols / OH
- Ethanol, beer, strong homemade spirits (pulque)
- Hydrocarbons / SOx
- Hydrocarbon and aromatic residuals below the first-barrier threshold
Why two barriers
The A100 strips out aggressive, high-concentration contaminants up front. That keeps the Mass Spec from being saturated by gasoline-class signals, so it runs at maximum sensitivity for the low-residual targets above — higher accuracy, fewer false rejects and more stable production.
