What it does

EBI inspects washed empty bottles immediately before filling. The vision system checks the neck finish for cracks, breaks and abrasions, and inspects the bottle bottom for foreign objects and structural cracking. Bottles that pass the inspection can move on to filling; bottles that fail can be diverted automatically when the optional reject system is installed.

In the line

The station is autonomous and can be installed on a bottling line ahead of the filler. Operators manage production statistics, format-specific recipes and saved settings from the touchscreen, with network access available for remote service. Automatic format changeover and modular construction let it keep up as formats or inspection needs change.

What it inspects

  • Complete neck-finish inspection.
  • Cracks, breaks and abrasions around the finish.
  • Foreign objects in the bottle bottom.
  • Bottom cracks and other structural defects.
  • Production statistics and password-protected operating data.
  • Stored configurations and parameters for each format or recipe.

EBS vs EBI

EBS sorts dirty returned bottles before the wash; EBI checks washed bottles before the fill. They do different jobs on opposite sides of the washer and are typically used together on reusable-bottle lines.
